"Why do you gotta have such a big family?" You whined as Imayoshi rested his hand on top of your hurting one, "My hand has died of writing Christmas cards."
Imayoshi smiled weakly, his eyebrows knitted together in empathy towards you, "We're almost done, babe."
"Don't you 'babe' me. I've actually been writing, you've just been doodling everywhere!" You whined again, holding back your laughter as you checked out his doodles from across the table.
"What? You don't like my drawing of Santa?" He faked a pout, holding up his drawing he had worked on for the last hour.
"No, I love the way Santa looks like a snowball covered in blood," you smiled at him, giving him an approving thumbs up and an impressed look.
''You can be so mean sometimes...'' He mumbled, before taking your hand and placing a kiss to the back of it, his pout quickly transitioning into the smile you loved so much, but it slightly creeped you out at the same time.
Heaving a soft sigh, you looked around Imayoshi's decorated living room. Cables with little light-emitting bulbs surrounded the place, giving it a warm and cosy hue while another source of colour stood in the corner of the room. Its peaks reached the ceiling, pallets of ornaments dangling from its green branches as the tree was wrapped in garlands, just like the presents underneath it in decorative wrapping paper. Both of you had put hours of effort into decorating his house, but as Christmas songs were playing on the radio and you both sang along like the not-so-professional singers you were, you didn't mind at all.
Imayoshi's thumb rubbed the back of your hand lovingly as you continued writing a Christmas card for his sister and he for his aunt, soft festive music on in the background as it was only appropriate for the holidays.
"Shouichi?"
Imayoshi looked up, fixing his glasses along the way, "Yes?"
"Here,'' you mumbled after a while as you handed him the Christmas card you had been struggling to write as you couldn't put your thoughts into words for this peculiar man, ''This one's for you."
"For me?" He smirked, folding out the card and skimming it thoroughly. Slowly, his devilish smile faltered and somewhere you could see a faint blush arise in his cheeks. Seeing him like that, you couldn't help the fluttering of your heart and your eyes staring at him dreamily, like he made you do every single time he abandoned his superficially kind attitude and instead replaced it with a warm, amused expression.
Without uttering a word, Imayoshi got up from the floor and walked around the table to come and stand behind you. Your eyes followed him cautiously, expecting something out of the ordinary to happen. Even after being with Imayoshi for the longest time, he was still full of - cheeky - surprises and there was no way you wouldn't be suspicious if he was standing behind you with, what you can only explain to be, a sly smile.
"Look in front of you," He instructed, making you hesitantly do so.
Next thing you knew, something cold came in contact with your skin and as you looked down, you saw a beautiful silver necklace with a pendant wrapped around your neck. An almost inaudible laugh escaped your lips as you blushed when you read what was beautifully engraved in the spherical pendant.
''Love beyond the moon & stars''
Imayoshi knelt down and wrapped his toned arms around your waist from behind as you sat on the floor, his warm face buried in the crook of your neck to place a kiss there, the ends of his long and dark tresses making shivers travel down your spine. All at once, your heart overflowed with immense feelings of happiness and love coming from the cheeky and irresistible male. Holding the necklace between your thumb and pointer finger, you turned your head to look at the handsome basketball payer, who studied you carefully with squinted eyes and an affectionate gaze.
"Consider this an early Christmas present," He stated in a hushed tone, "I regard myself as very lucky to have such a caring, attentive and beautiful person in my life. You're mine and I love you too. "
Feeling slightly dazed by all the loving words whispered only for you to hear by the sweet-talker, you turned around in his muscular arms and snuggled into his built chest. Inhaling his sweet scent, you took note of the shining necklace around his own neck with a duplicate pendant as he made you yet again drown in a pool of enchantment. Drawing closer to his face, you smiled softly and met his lips in a loving yet soft kiss.
Imayoshi pulled away slightly reluctantly and looked at you with his dark grey orbs, smiling his kind smile, ''This will definitely be just one of our many Christmas celebrations together, love.''
